Re: The Grove Controversy

http://www.thechurchofwells.com/files/theme/First_Meeting_With_The_Groves.mp3

In this "message" I find the part starting at 8:27 interesting, "subvert her from our teachings...not our teachings, but from the written word of God.  Whatever those teachings would be, whatever scripture says, that is the final authority on matters of faith and practice and that we care for her soul, and you dont"

If you listen to it, you can get a better idea of how I heard it, like he caught himself saying that and quickly corrected.  Still listening to it as I post this so I may have more to add to this post when I'm done.

10:51- Ryan is talking about how Mrs. Grove was very upset and kept interupting conversation between Cory, Mr. Grove and himself:
"We did have to correct Mrs. Grove on the written word of God many times, that a godly woman is to be meek and of a quiet spirit...... and the woman is to not userp (spelling?) authority over a man.... Its more Mr. Groves place in that instance to talk about doctrine....."  I got tired of attempting to write out the whole thing, just hit points I found interesting.  Its all there if you listen.

Re: The Grove Controversy

they do not listen when a woman attempts to speak authority over them. She is considered to be "contentious" if she tries to correct in any way. I know because I have been called contentious. My husband was accused of creating "false peace" in our household for allowing me to continue to have any say in any areas.

Thank you.  I just wish this wasn't so true.  I saw a young man once ask for permission to talk.  These sheeple should question seperation from family being such an important part of joining the Church of Wells.

I guess they're learning military-style discipline? But who does Sean Morris answer to?

That is exactly the biggest problem here. They are accountable to no one older which in itself is not Biblical. They are blind to this as well as many things!

K, it was wierd listening to the Q&A recordings last night; some of the stuff Ryan said about Mrs. Grove is exactly what's been said about every other mother. And the same exact stuff about the husband not reproving his wife. I think they have a template that they bring out for the next guy - the "Reprobate Mom Contentious Woman" sermon. A two-part series to be used with "Husband, Reprove Your Bold Wife." In HD, where available.
