Church of Wells Manifesto - Jake Gardner

Our Manifesto - Jake Gardner

- Points 1 and 2 are pretty reasonable. It is the other points that things start getting strange.

- Point 3: Jesus only saved us from sin, not from Hell.

- Point 4: It is manifest, that salvation is more than an event that happens in the beginning of the Christian’s walk with God. If the Christian is not perpetually being saved from their sins, and continuing down the narrow way that leads to life – the way of holiness – then that man should not expect to finally be saved when he stands, at last, before the judgment seat of Christ (Isa. 35:8; Matt. 7:13,14; 10:22; II Pet. 1:10,11).
(Eternal Security of Salvation)

- Point 5: We declare that the church for whom Christ died is bound to be of one heart, one spirit, one soul, one mind and of one accord (Zep. 3:9; Acts 4:32; 5:12; Rom. 15:5,6; I Cor. 1:10; II Cor. 13:11; Php. 1:27; 2:2; I Pet. 3:8
(They do not recognize any other external church in existence today that is a true church, therefore, they use this to reinforce that disagreement with their elders is disagreement with the Truth of God, which leads to Hell)

- Point 6:
This meant when God gave the command in I Corinthians 5:11, “Not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat,” then they would excommunicate all who profess the name of Christ, yet were living in open sin, lest the name of God be blasphemed.
(They continuely claim that anyone who does not agree with their teachings is an Idolater and living in open sin, and therefore they cannot fellowship with them.)
