While they may be good manipulators they are POOR theologians, communicators and writers. They have set themselves up, especially Sean, as the interpretive key to Scripture.

That's exactly what I think. I really think they rely heavily on bible keyword searches on SmartPhones. Then cut and paste, formatting, font decisions. At best, it's personal journaling after a week confined to the clothes closet, in the dark, and in a manic altered state self-induced by deprivation of sleep, food, water, and normal stimuli.
We've all experienced that writing term papers and thesis on deadline. And we always feel exceptional clarity and brilliance, frantically gettting it all down at 3 am. But, me, I read that stuff later and wonder what I was thinking.

Going deeper, somebody (Sean?) is actually deciding what they believe. Then they all collectively agree. In their writings, they use the word "we" as if that's meaningful. We, who? They've had a few years of discussing stuff together, with no feedback from others.

It's different. And weird. And cultish.

All of their stuff reads like poorly-educated flim-flam that they've gotten away with. It's so overwhelming that even theologians have difficulty sorting through it. So everyone just goes, yeah, sounds right...

Yeah, no, it doesn't sound right, in fact. It gives the impression that it sounds right. You have to invest time and energy to look at it under a microscope. I spent a fair bit of time. I call bullshit on all of it.

When you listen to their sermons, they verbalize differently than the writings. All of 'em. The writing is one voice. Their sermons are in their own voices. Nowhere near as profound and literary. I keep wondering who the ghost writer is. Is it one of the women? Holly Pearce?

I'll take the writing a little more seriously when I read a "y'all" in there somewhere.

You got more out of it than I have. I can't get that far. To me, it's just a huge bunch of words strung together without making the least bit of sense. And I do a lot of (technical) writing...

Re: Condescension of God

I agree apple1. I can't make any sense from it all.

What's a "bluetooth conversation"?

I've seen the same habit in at least three of them.

Like, with whom?

2 Peter, I don't think anybody has conversations with them. They simply don't engage in normal social convention. Tell us about your experiences with them, since you seem to have a real relationship.

There's nothing here to compare with Shakespeare. To me, there's no basis for comparison or platform to discuss it, and a pointless intellectual exercise. Not meaning to be insulting or churlish, 2Peter, just saying what I think straight out. Might as well compare them to Voltaire. Tolstoy?

Ya'll totally missed the point on the shakespeare question.  Whatevah.  Not s'posed to be an intellectual exercise.

But then, with more of that pumpkin ale aforementioned in another *stray* thought, one just might see all kinds of allegory in any chosen text, renaissance, socialist, or Picard.

I seem to agitate you a bit, Hyth.  Three of them such as Kevin, Masao, William, and two more I don't know their names.  The style of speaking, stop in mid sentence with long pauses.  Very long. Then pick up in another stream of word salad.  I think Sam had a good description of it too.

Good points.  There may be  psychological dysfunction that is actually clinically significant.   Much of what you describe and how the thought patterns ramble is consistent with personality disorders.  It eould explain a lot, particularly with Mr Morris's style of writing.
